when making choices, think about optionality, data, and value
- does this decision give me more optionality?
- ex: taking a role that is better for your resume over one that pays more but locks you in
- good data?
- ex: sending a message to a director despite the risk of it annoying them, since their response could provide useful data on how certain people react and useful unique info
- value?
- ex: will I make friends doing this? some money?
- this one tends to be the most obvious, we naturally do this all of these could be considered the same depending on how you look at it.
