realistic diet

purchase healthy and satisfying groceries to avoid eating out

  • going too cheap/bland will add friction to eating healthy at home
  • food being easy to prep is also a huge factor; unfortunately i am not in my cooking era

my old method:

  • super cheap, minimal diet from walmart. would get frozen chicken, natural (yes the gross stir one) pb + whole wheat bread, the ~$2 frozen ground turkey roll, frozen fruit and vegetables, eggs
  • the problem: would eat very cheap and healthy, but i’d have to be motivated by a trip or something to really be consistent. i’m not picky so i enjoyed it somewhat, but would definitely crave eating out more and things get kind of bland after a while new method (early stages):
  • trader joes refrigerated pre-cooked chicken, larger uncooked chicken, harris teeter rotisserie chicken
  • still looking for: classic healthy foods that are more satisfying. thinking greek yogurt, dark chocolate, sweet potatoes, pineapple and other fruits
  • same: walmart frozen vegetables, whole wheat bread, going to try to eat less of the pb honey sandwiches since they are more calorie dense
